S.S.LN.T. Mahila Mahavidyalaya is one of the leading women’s college of Jharkhand, situated at Dhanbad, the coal capital of india which is established in the year 1955 under Ranchi University and registered by UGC in the year 1954 as permanent Government college Then it was constituted under Vinoba Bhave University in the year 1992 with an intention to improve not only the educational status but also the status as a whole. It offers UG with PG course in different disciplines To fulfil the national objectives in the field of Teacher Education, B.Ed. Course was introduced in the year 2006 with an intake of 100 students Two Years B.Ed course is running smoothly since 2015 with an intake of 100 [hundred] students in composite form. After the establishment of Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University (BBMKU) in 2017 in Dhanbad S.S.LN.T Mahila Mahavidyalaya became the constituent unit of BBMKU.
The B.Ed curriculum is designed to integrate the study of subject knowledge, human development, Pedagogical knowledge and communication skills. It has both theoretical and practical dimensions.
Perspective in education is coming under the theory courses and it includes study childhood and its development, cotemporary India and education, knowledge and curriculum, learning and teaching, Assessment for learning, Guidance counselling, Health education and inclusive education etc.
Course in curriculum and Pedagogic studies include language across the curriculum understanding school subjects, and the Pedagogy studies offers a study of a Particular discipline, and critical understanding of the curriculum This will enable the students Specialize in one disciplinary area, like science, social science, Mathematics and language.
B.Ed. programme provides sustained engagement with self, child, community and school School internship is a vital aspect of B.Ed. Programme. Students are actively engaged teaching for 16 weeks in the third semester and 4 weeks in second semester Besides teaching, students a re also involved in different school activities. It also includes courses on enhancing professional capacities (EPC), EPC 1 : as Reading and Reflecting on test, EPC-2, Drama and Art Education, EPC- 3, Piratical understanding of ICT, EPC-4 understanding self.
Earlier the selection of candidates for admission in to B.Ed. course was done strictly in accordance with the merit list prepared by the parent university and concerned college from time to time till 2018, on the basics of the rules and regulations laid down by government of Jharkhand. Science 2018 the admission in B.Ed. course is centralized by Government of Jharkhand. The Government of Jharkhand has assigned the responsibility for conducting the entrance test for various programmes to Jharkhand combined entrance competitive exam board. So JCECEB has been also given the responsibility for conducting entrance test for B.Ed. course which is sent to different colleges for verification and admission.
Aspirants with minimum of 50% (Percentage) marks either in bachelor degree or Master degree exam (science / social science / Humanities /commerce) with a specialization in science and mathematics securing at least 55% marks are also eligible. The reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/ PWD/ EWS and other category are given per the rules of Jharkhand Government.

Annual intake of B.Ed. course is ₹ 100 ( Hundred ). There is reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates strictly in accordance with rules of Jharkhand government.
B.Ed. course is being offered by the university in a two year programme spilt into four semester.
Minimum attendance at student – teachers shall have to be 80% for all course work and 90%. for school internship programme.
